HOME GROWN - Brand System
A strategic brand system built to position Home Grown as a high-quality, accessible cannabis brand rooted in California lifestyle and local culture.
Year :
2026
Industry :
Cannabis · Consumer Goods
Client :
Home Grown

THE CHALLENGE:
Building a brand people could recognize beyond the product.
Home Grown is part of Friendly Brand, offering high-quality cannabis products at a competitive price point. The challenge was to structure the brand into a cohesive visual and verbal system that could create consistent recognition across every customer touchpoint.
The brand wanted to connect with the lifestyle and culture of California while maintaining a strong perception of product quality, balancing a premium feel with an accessible, local, and authentic attitude.
From packaging and printed offers to social media, advertising, product education, and digital content, every piece needed to feel unmistakably Home Grown.

THE STRATEGY:
From a cannabis brand to a lifestyle-driven identity.
The strategic direction was built around two ideas: Local Realism and Culture First.
Instead of relying exclusively on product-focused communication, the brand needed to feel embedded in the everyday culture of its audience. Products could live in real-world environments, conversations, routines, and social contexts — making Home Grown feel less like a cannabis company and more like a brand that belongs to the community it serves.
This approach informed everything from visual direction and content formats to the tone of product communication.
The goal was simple: build recognition through a consistent world around the brand, not just through the products themselves.

THE BRAND SYSTEM:
A flexible visual language designed to work everywhere.
With the strategic foundation in place, I developed a visual system that could adapt across the brand’s different communication needs while maintaining a recognizable Home Grown presence.
The system was designed to move fluidly between product-focused communication and lifestyle-driven content, creating consistency across packaging, social media, advertising, printed materials, and digital experiences.
Rather than treating each asset as an isolated piece, the goal was to establish a visual language that could scale, allowing different formats, messages, and campaigns to feel connected to the same brand.
PRODUCT EDUCATION
Making a complex product range easier to understand.
Home Grown’s product range included different formats, devices, and product characteristics that needed to be communicated clearly to customers.
I developed educational content designed to break down product differences, explain technical characteristics, and help customers understand which products best fit their needs.
NATIVE SOCIAL
Designing content that feels native to the feed.
For social and advertising, I explored native-style formats that could feel closer to organic conversations than traditional advertising.
Formats inspired by platforms such as Twitter and iMessage were used to create the feeling of peer-to-peer recommendations and social proof, while maintaining the raw, editorial character of the Home Grown brand.
LIFESTYLE & AI-POWERED CREATIVE
Expanding the brand world through AI-powered imagery.
To bring the Home Grown visual world to life across different contexts, I developed AI-generated product and lifestyle imagery that placed the brand within environments connected to its California-inspired identity.
The imagery explored products in real-world settings, from everyday lifestyle moments to more editorial and culture-driven compositions, creating a broader visual library for digital communication and social content.
PRINTED MATERIAL
Taking the system beyond digital.
The brand system was also translated into physical touchpoints, including promotional flyers and product-focused printed materials.
These pieces had to balance commercial information — such as introductory offers and product pricing — with the same visual language established across the brand’s digital ecosystem.
MY ROLE
From brand structure to creative execution.
I was responsible for structuring the Home Grown brand system, translating its positioning and desired California lifestyle into a cohesive visual and verbal direction.
My role covered:
Brand Strategy · Brand Positioning · Tone of Voice · Visual Identity · Brand System · Creative Direction · Art Direction · Packaging · Social & Advertising · Product Education · AI Creative Development
